First photos of Johnny Depp from DARK SHADOWS
I’m going to trust in Tim Burton on this one. Even if his re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland was one of the biggest disappointments and largest missteps I have ever seen in a filmmakers career, I still hold out hope that he knows what he’s doing with Dark Shadows. Unfortunately the remake rage has taken a hold of the director once again with this film adaptation of the popular TV series that began in 1966. It seems a fitting match to have the man who gave us such dark classics like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Sleepy Hollow, to explore the world made famous by the vampire Barnabas Collins (made famous by Jonathan Frid). To forewarn you, these photos have made many people online question the look that Burton is going for with the character of Collins.
The film doesn’t open till May 11, 2012, but you can enjoy (or despise) these photos for now.
