John Blake and Commissioner Gordon Discuss The Batman in First ‘DARK KNIGHT RISES’ Clip

As it dwindles down to just a matter of days before the world finally gets to see one of the most anticipated films of . . . well, not just 2012 . . . but more like ever . . . you will no doubt be inundated with new clips, posters, and images from the film.  Some of you may want to go in completely blind from here on out if you care to remain more in the dark.  But if you are anything like me, you most likely can’t get enough of the media circus surrounding the film.  Gary Oldman kicked off the pre-release TV appearances last night with a trip to Jimmy Kimmel.  Much like with all of these interviews, viewers were treated to a clip from the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.  So without further ado, after endless trailers, we now have our first full clip from Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film.  A transcript of the clip can be found below.

Gordon: What’s your name son?
Blake: Blake, sir
Gordon: You have something you want to ask me officer Blake?
Blake: It’s about that night, this night, 8 years ago, the night Dent died, the last confirmed sighting of The Batman. He murders those people, takes down two SWAT teams, breaks Dent neck and then he just….vanishes?
Gordon: I’m not hearing a question son..
Blake: Don’t you want to know who he was?
Gordon: I know who he was. (shot focuses on the busted signal) He was the Batman

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
