[HOME INVASION] NEW BLU-RAY RELEASES FOR OCTOBER 14, 2014

There’s a lot of limited releases coming out this year. This week, specialty film  distributor “Twilight Time” is dropping a bunch of rare titles. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights for September 14, 2014:

The Blob. United States. Screen Archives Entertainment Exclusive /Limited Edition to 5000. Twilight Time. 1988.

 

Summary:

Remake of the 1958 horror sci-fi about a deadly blob which is the spawn of a secret government germ warfare project which consumes everyone in its path. Teenagers try in vain to warn the townsfolk, who refuse to take them seriously, while government agents try to cover up the evidence and confine the creature. (Source)

Penny Dreadful: The Complete First Season. United States. Paramount Pictures. 2014.

 

Summary:

In Victorian London, figures such as explorer Sir Malcolm Murray, American gunslinger Ethan Chandler, enigmatic medium Vanessa Ives, and others combat supernatural forces. Murray is searching for his adult daughter, now a vampire, and hopes to cure her. (Source)

The Believers. United States. Screen Archives Entertainment Exclusive /Limited Edition to 3000 Twilight Time. 1987.

 

Summary:

After the death of his wife, police psychiatrist Cal Jamison moves to New York. There he has to help in the investigation of the murder of two youths, who seem to have been immolated during a cult ritual. Jamison believes it’s been Voodoo and, ignoring the warnings of his housekeeper, enters the scenery and soon gets under their influence. They try to get him to sacrifice his own son. (Source)

Summary:

The boyfriend of an abducted woman never gives up the search as the abductor looks on. (Source)

Summary:

Janice and Bill Templeton, a happily married couple, the parents of well-adjusted preteen Ivy. Their family security is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious stranger, Elliot Hoover. At first mistaken for a potential child molester, Hoover explains that his obsessive interest in young Ivy is actually paternal. It is Hoover’s contention that their daughter is the reincarnation of his own child, who died in a horrible accident. This information is dismissed out of hand-and then strange things begin happening. (Source)

Summary:

A tale of five 20-somethings whose free-spirited road trip becomes a terrifying descent into madness. Summary:

It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. Summary:

When la Havana falls prey to a full-blown zombie invasion, slacker Juan and his friend decide to profit from the crisis and set up a zombie eradication business with the slogan ‘Juan de los Muertos – we kill your loved ones’. Before long Juan finds himself in the money – as well as in the unfamiliar and somewhat uncomfortable role of local hero – as he and his partner expand their ever-expanding repertoire of inventive ways to kill zombies.
