Ghostface Killah Unleashes a Bloodthirsty Cult In New Music Video

Former members of the Wu Tang Clan – Ghostface Killah and RZA – are known for being huge fans of cult cinema and grindhouse films.  Their lyrics and use of imagery throughout their music videos over the years have proven this countless of times.  Continuing this trend is the video for Ghostface Killah’s first single off his new album Twelve Reasons To Die.  Sporting a very cool retro horror cover, the album just hit stores and online retailers yesterday.  “Rise of the Ghostface Killah” is the name of the song and with it comes a video chock-full of 70’s and 80’s satanic cult imagery.  Let’s be honest, it doesn’t have quite the sophistication of imagery as seen in Rosemary’s Baby and Race With the Devil and seems more inspired by such late 80’s grindhouse flicks Prime Evil and Black Candles.  Horror fans should DEFINITELY enjoy this fun video.

Due to some blood and stabbings found in the video, you might consider it NSFW. Just so that you are aware. Enjoy.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
