GET A LOOK AT THE FIRST PICTURE OF CHOLE GRACE MORETZ AS ‘CARRIE’

The cinema gods in all their remake glory are inching closer and closer to the release of Carrie. Set to hit theaters worldwide on March 15th 2013, filming is now underway and a picture just appeared online of Chloe Grace Moretz as the title character. Not too many people are excited about this remake of the classic film, but there are some great actors in this movie that could allow it to stand on its own. I think the most appropriate thing about the release of this film is the fact that bullying is at an all time high due to social media or “cyber bullying” as they call it. I’m interested to see if that plays a part in the ridicule that Carrie gets from her peers. It’s possible because as you can see from the photo, she is walking around with a smart phone in her hand. This movie is being placed in a time and age completely different from the original so I think it will be difficult to keep certain things the same. Like, will she really not know what her period is in 2012? Also the rating on this will be something to watch to see if they try to appeal to a younger audience or fans of the first. I don’t know but the more I think about it, this film has some positive things that could be included in this world. Lets hope they capitalize on it.

Synopsis:

“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”

Carrie stars Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort.
