‘EVIL DEAD’ Will Be Scaring Audiences One Week Early!

All you Deadites have another reason to thank Bruce Campbell; as if horror fans weren’t grateful enough to the horror veteran.  Campbell took to Twitter to announce that Fede Alvarez’s upcoming remake Evil Dead will be released ahead of schedule.  Instead of the previously announced date of April 12, the film will now scare audiences beginning April 5!  It seems like an odd choice since April 5 is already packed with the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park and the White House action-fest Olympus Has Fallen and that the only real competition on April 12 is Scary Movie 5 (which we can all agree is hardly much of a fight).  I’m just excited about the movie in general and so having it open a week early is fine in my book.  We’ve see a pair of red-band trailers so far and yet only one official poster.  I wonder with the coming release fastly approaching if we will see a new poster in the weeks to come.  Here’s hoping.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
