Carano and Fassbender Like it Rough in new ‘Haywire’ Clip

I’m a sucker for a well-choreographed and expertly filmed fight sequence.  Hand to hand combat has always been for me the most visceral and brutal form of action.  Forget guys or girls leaping through the air shooting guns, I want to see two people duke it out old-school style.  This is one of the many reasons why I want to see the action film Haywire which opens Friday.  Steven Soderbergh, a director who has always defied what is expected of him, has gotten together a talented cast headlined by the beautiful real-life MMA fighter Gina Carano.  A new clip has surfaced online from the film.  As you can witness from the footage, Gina Carano gives a new meaning to the phrase “a roll in the hay.”  And to think, Michael Fassbender was just hoping to get lucky.  Enjoy the clip below.

Synopsis:

A black ops super soldier seeks payback after she is betrayed and set up during a mission.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
