‘CABIN IN THE WOODS’ Gets a Puzzling New Poster

To think that Joss Whedon’s long delayed return to horror territory is now only a matter of months away, is quite mind-boggling to me.  Cabin In The Woods almost began to exist as a myth or legend.  Something that everyone knew of but no one talked about it and no one knew any details regarding it.  So to see a poster finally being released for the film brings me such joy.  I should say that “giddy” is a more appropriate word.  The man captivated many horror fans, including myself, with his smart, quirky, and funny horror tv show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Under the direction of fellow Buffy alum Drew Goddard (who also co-wrote Cloverfield), Cabin in the Woods is set to be released April 13, 2012. Friday the 13th. . . how appropriate.  You can enjoy the synopsis and new poster below.  After seeing the below poster, I am now even more curious about this strange film.

Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen.   If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.  Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
