Batman is Front and Center on this Week’s Entertainment Weekly

Set to hit newsstands and mailboxes tomorrow, the new issue of Entertainment Weekly has a “2012 Preview” that spotlights this year’s top films.  What list wouldn’t be complete without the new adventure starring the caped crusader?  The Dark Knight Rises is the obvious front-runner for many people’s most anticipated film of 2012 and EW is here to solidify that claim.  The cover features Christian Bale in the newly tweaked suit (it does appear even slightly different than it did in The Dark Knight) while the interior of the issue holds a handful of new photos that can be seen below right now! Granted, there is still a perk to checking out the magazine tomorrow due to the fact that EW has deliberately held back some of the most desired photos for fans that will be seen exclusively in the issue: The first photos of the newly rebuilt batcave.  You might remember that this was missing from the last film following the fire that burned down Wayne Manor in Batman Begins.  As we wait for those photos to emerge, enjoy the new crop of stills below.

Does anyone else think that Bane has sad panda eyes in that first still?

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
