A Creepy Trailer Moves in on ROSEWOOD LANE

Rosewood Lane is about to make its world debut at the Screamfest Film Festival in LA.  To get people excited about the upcoming thriller from Victor Salva, Shock-till-you-Drop is releasing the brand-new trailer.  I love star Rose McGowan and I was thoroughly entertained with what Salva did with Jeepers Creepers, but this trailer doesn’t get me overly excited.  I guess I should re-phrase myself.  The trailer is effective at displaying some thrilling moments from the film.  I just can’t help but get the feeling that I have seen this film before.  We’ll have to see after this weekend when reviews start pouring in from the fest.  You can judge the new trailer for yourself below.

Radio talk show therapist, Sonny Blake, moves back to her childhood home after her alcoholic father dies. Upon her return to the old neighborhood, Sonny discovers her neighbors are terrified of the local paperboy.  She thinks this is ridiculous, until she encounters the boy herself, and learns the hard way that he is a cunning and dangerous sociopath. One who may have killed her father, and several others.  When the boy starts to call Sonny’s radio show, reciting eerie nursery rhymes, an unnerving game of cat-and-mouse begins, which makes Sonny doubt her own sanity.  As the game escalates, she suddenly finds herself in a terrifying, all-out war that forces her to redefine her ideas of good and evil, and has her fighting to stay alive.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
