‘PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3’ Is Set to Haunt Blu-ray this Jan.

Since the movie takes place in 1988 and is supposed to be shot on tape as opposed to digital . . . wouldn’t it be cool if Paranormal Activity 3 came out on VHS?!? Now, I know some of you would have to go to your local pawn shop to pick up a VCR.  Yet, I know for a fact that many of you still held on to your old one from the 80’s.  Even though it looks like Paramount will not be releasing it on the format, you can still check out the newest addition to the popular film series on DVD and Blu-ray January 24, 2012.   No details as to what special features the disc will boast has been released as of yet.  However, the cover does reveal a “theatrical” and “unrated” cut both on the disc.  So for the hundreds of people that were annoyed that all of those effective jump scares from the trailer were not included in the final cut, maybe now you’ll be able to see them in this new “unrated” cut.  I for one was extremely impressed with this creepy sequel and I only hope that the people involved in the inevitable fourth film will be able to approach the material in a fresh light as well.  The cover art can be found below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
