Original I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE and Remake Heading to Blu-Ray in Feb.

Even though we did not get a wide theatrical distribution of the remake of Meir Zarchi’s 1978 exploitation classic I Spit on Your Grave, we won’t have to wait too much longer to see Jennifer’s revenge on the men that abused her on Blu-Ray.  On February 8, 2011, Anchor Bay will be releasing Steven R. Monroe, 2010 remake of I Spit on Your Grave as well as Zarchi’s 1978 original on high-definition Blu-Ray and DVD.  Beyond the break you can see the cover art and read about what special features that will be available with the films.

Dreadcentral is reporting that the Anchor Bay release of the remake will include a filmmakers commentary track with producer Lisa Hansen and director Steven Monroe, an in-depth behind-the-scenes featurette, the original theatrical teaser and trailer, deleted scenes and much more.  The 1978 I Spit on Your Grave  Blu-Ray features an all-new high definition transfer and an all-new interview with writer/producer/director Meir Zarchi about the making of his infamous rape-revenge film.  Check out the revealing cover art for both films below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
