[COFFIN COUTURE] SEPULTURA, SKELETONS AND SATAN: SWIMWEAR FOR HEADBANGERS

Well, it’s nearly August, and summer is officially in full swing. And if you’re a fan of heavy metal and horror, I’ve got the scoop on what you should be sporting on the beach this summer. Forget the polka-dot bikini girls, because right now it’s all about Sepultura, skeletons, and Satan.

There are few things more hardcore than Brazilian band, Sepultura. This Monokini, based on the bands 1985 album “Bestial Devastation”, is the creation of Quebec based Speed Clothing. Back in the early 1960’s, Rudi Gernreich, an Austrian-born American fashion designer, introduced the world to the first Monokini, which was topless.

Here’s another satanic Monokini from Speed Clothing, this time featuring artwork inspired by New Jersey thrash band, Blood Feast. Both of these completely metal Monokini’s will run you about $90. It’s a small price to pay to ensure you look like the spawn of Satan while sunning yourself on the sand this summer.

Speaking of Satan, this Black Metal bikini (available at Back Street Merch) would probably make Beelzebub himself blush. If you’re looking for something slightly more satanic, this pentagram bikini top and bottom will give you a tan line that would get you kicked out of church. But let’s face it, Sunday School is completely overrated. So just head straight to Hell, and get to work on your suntan.

Motörhead jumped head-first into the bikini game this summer and released their own signature swimsuit in late July. Or what I like to call the “Motör-kini“. The Lemmy approved suit will set you back about $40.

Other notable bands making bikini’s this year are Slayer, Swedish band Ghost, and Mastodon.

Next up is a bikini that immediately made me think of the film “Teeth“. This “Loose Tooth” reversible bikini comes to you by way of UK based clothing company, Iron Fist.

Here’s another creepy x-ray inspired swimsuit from Iron Fist. This one-piece features a convenient zipper running down the front of the ribcage print, to a perfectly situated printed pelvis. It’s also a serious bargain that any fearless fashionista can appreciate, with a price-tag of about $20 bones.

Let’s keep the creepy graveyard beach party going with this skeleton Tankini from UK Rockabilly clothing company, Banned. It’s truly horrifying haute couture.

Just because you’re headed to the beach doesn’t mean that you have to leave your leather and studded duds at home. Liquid spandex and pyramid studs create the perfect faux-leather look with this bikini from the trollop loving gutter tramps of LA based staple, Trashy Lingerie

Last but not least, I’m going to finish this post in the same place I started it, just south of the equator in Brazil. This year at Fashion Rio, an annual five-day fashion fest, bikini’s made from actual metal were showcased by Brazilian fashion house Triya, as part of their spring-summer 2013-14 collection.

Now all women know that being fashionable does not always equate to comfort. Is possible that there could be something less comfortable than a bathing suit made of metal? Probably not. But Brazilian fashion isn’t for shy types who like like sensible shoes. And a bikini made of metal isn’t made for swimming, it’s made for strutting your stuff all over Copacabana.

So grab your best black beach towel, slip into a Motör-kini, and get to the beach!

of course like your website but you have to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very troublesome to tell the truth however I will definitely come again again.
