Zombie Zombie covers John Carpenter

John Carpenter is a name every fiend knows.  Not only has he directed some of the best films of the 80’s but he also has a knack for creating some incredibly catchy themes.  Halloween simply wouldn’t be the menacing film it is without that music – a comment made by Carpenter himself on that new documentary you might have caught last week.

I have heard cover songs of his material before, but none of them have really captured the vibe.  Some Carpenter fans might recognize the name of the band in the headline, Zombie Zombie, from the music video they had created which included G.I. Joe figurines reacting Carpenter’s The Thing on a minature scale.  Beyond the break, you can find out where to hear the band Zombie Zombie cover some classic Carpenter themes!

French website The Drone posted this on their website in late September.  While I have been meaning to post it up since October 4th, stuff got in the way.  Since it is a slow news day today, I figured now would be the perfect time.

Go here to hear the 5 song EP (past all the french text, there is a flash player).

If you dig it and would like to purchase it, it is available on Amazon.com in  non-DRM mp3 form for less than a dollar a song.
