We are introducing a new type of post here at Destroy the Brain. While we mainly focus on movie news and reviews, I have always wanted to branch out and embrace the communal aspect of horror and cult cinema. Mainly, the things that we can geek out at. Whether it be collectibles or just random stuff that reminds us of or pays tribute to a film, GEEK OUT will feature these types of things that we can…well, geek out on.
James Cameron’s The Terminator has always been a movie I remember watching as a kid. The tone is quite different from Cameron’s follow-up. The violence is scary and well, it just seems like humanity, specifically humans that got in the way of the T-100, had no chance going up against the machines.
There is no doubt that the Terminator series is one that runs through the veins of any horror or sci-fi geek. Quoting the films is one thing but doing what the guy below did is just fun to watch. I think it is fair to say that most of us who grew up with the films probably wouldn’t have that childhood fascination or creativity that this gentleman portrays in the below video but to watch it is inspiring to see. The fact that he can think so outside the box to craft something that is so iconic in sci-fi film history is just awesome to watch. Also, it’s pretty cheap to pull off and if you are located in the UK, you will know exactly what to buy as most of the items he acquires are at dollar stores. The most expensive tool you might need is a Dremel tool.
As mentioned in the video, he made a very nice looking Dollar Store Iron Man Arc Reactor as well. You can check out all the fine details of this Endoskeleton Skull build here and be sure to check out his website at http://xrobots.co.uk/.
