St. Louis Comic Writers Need Your Help to Fund THE DEAD PALACE

Jim Ousley, who you may remember from The Bloodfest Club, is back on Kickstarter trying to raise funds for a new horror comic anthology called The Dead Palace.

St. Louis-based writer Jim Ousley and artist Benjamin Sawyer are turning to Kickstarter to crowdsource funds for their new horror graphic novel, The Dead Palace: The Complete Collection.

Writer Jim Ousley and artist Benjamin Sawyer have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new graphic novel, The Dead Palace: The Complete Collection. The 30-day campaign begins on September 5th with the debut of a behind-the- scenes video on the making of the book. The Dead Palace is a full-color horror anthology comic featuring Gothic tales of otherworldly mystery and pure bloody terror. The book consists of multiple stories, featuring misunderstood monsters, nightmarish kaiju, restless spirits, and evil robots, and will clock in at just over 100 pages once produced. The creative team’s goal is to raise $6,000 which will cover the cost of the artwork, printing and shipping the book, video and graphic design for the Kickstarter, and a host of rewards for campaign backers.

Rewards include a copy of the softcover book, Kickstarter-exclusive T-shirts, and even lunch and comic book shopping with the artist and writer. On Kickstarter.com, artists have a set number of days to reach their fundraising goal, or the project receives nothing. The Dead Palace must be fully funded before October 4th, or all pledges are cancelled. The duo are optimistic that they can reach their goal and are excited to get started on the book following the campaign. “Working on the conceptual artwork with Ben Sawyer has been a true creative collaboration. As fans of both horror and comics, to finally have the opportunity to create and release our own graphic novel in this genre is an absolute thrill. We hope everyone enjoys reading these creepy tales, as much as we enjoy bringing them to life,” said Ousley.
